How to Take a Screenshot on iPhone X

Until the iPhone X arrived , the way of capturing screens on an iPhone was always the same: press both the physical power buttons and the start button at the same time. This method had to change to force on the iPhone X for an obvious reason: it has no physical boot button .

The edge-to-edge screen suposo the end of the single navigation button and the arrival of all kinds of gestures to move through the system, but it would be very messy to make screenshots with gestures, because the best way to make gestures on the screen could be alter what you want to capture That is why with an iPhone X screenshots are still made by pressing two physical buttons , but different from those of previous iPhone.

Capture screen

To make a screen capture on an iPhone X you must press the power button and the volume up button at the same time . At first it may cost you a bit to synchronize the pulsation of both buttons and the amount of time you have to keep them pressed at the same time, but it sure is not slow to catch the trick.

If your previous phone was an iPhone , it should not cost you too much to undo the previous shortcut (start button + on), since there is no start button it will be impossible to replicate it. If you come from Android it may cost you something else, because the shortcut is similar but different (generally, Android is done with volume down + on, instead of increasing volume).

Then, edit it

After taking a screenshot, you can edit it directly without the need to use any advanced image editing application. To do this, all you have to do is touch the thumbnail that appears in the lower left corner. Hurry, because it disappears in a few seconds.

In the screen capture editor you can make quick and easy adjustments to the screenshot before sharing it. You have a series of pencils to paint on the capture and you can also touch the + button to display additional tools: the text tool, signature and magnifying glass. From the same section you can add geometric shapes, sandwiches and arrows.

The magnifying glass tool (left) and the text tool (right)

The text tool allows you to add text to the capture with a limited selection of fonts, choosing the size and alignment. More curious is the magnifying glass tool , which highlights a specific area of the screen capture, ideal for emphasizing a certain area.

And share it

After taking the screenshot and editing it, all you need to do is share it with other people in messaging applications or publish it on social networks. To do this, press the Share button from the editor.

Before sharing any screenshot it is important that you review the content displayed on the screen. Is there confidential information such as phone numbers that should not be shared? In this case, be sure to hide any data in a forceful way to prevent someone from recovering it.
