Question: The standby button on my iPhone is broken, but the device still works great. A repair is too expensive for me. Can I shut down my iPhone differently?
Answer: iOS 11 works in a synchronized way with the software. Go to Settings / General. If you tap the blue “Shut Down” at the bottom of the screen, your iPhone prompts you to turn off the power with a swipe, as is known.
If you want to restart with a defective standby key or lock the iPhone screen, access the built-in “Assistive Touch” assistance. This function is activated under Settings / General / Accessibility / Assistive Touch. Then a software button appears on the display that you can use to operate these and other functions. Under “Customize Main Menu” add the “Lock Screen” and “Restart” commands.

If the standby button is broken, the iPhone does not start again until you connect it to a power source via the Lightning cable – you can use a battery pack on the go.
