Most of us are law abiding citizens, however, our daily routine has made us a slave to some of the things that we keep on doing without knowing the fact that they actually are illegal. Some of us even know what they are doing is illegal, however, we tend to go for the fact that we won’t get caught doing something like this.
Today, we have decided to dedicate a post on illegal things that we should immediately stop doing. A list of these things will provide us with required guidance to stop doing them timely.
Carry on reading to know more:
1. Torrent Download
Most of us use torrents and rely on them to watch the next episode of our favorite TV show. Many of us use torrent sites to download complete movies. Guys, this is illegal. We should stay away from torrent sites! Most of them are getting blocked every day and please also remember that when you visit a torrent site, there are chances of malware attacks and you can’t say for sure if someone’s keeping track of your activity.
2. Using Visible Wi-Fi Connections
It is unethical and even illegal if you choose to connect to your neighbor’s Wi-Fi. Not just neighbor, it’s legal for every open Wi-Fi connection, unless and only it is a public connection. Most of us even try to connect to visible Wi-Fi connections by trying our luck on the password attempts, however, it is not a moral thing to use something that someone else specifically purchased for his own use.
3. Always Declare Your Income Before Selling Anything on eBay
Online selling is something that is still far away from regular tax networks. Most of us have sold things over the internet, but how many of us really declared those earnings for taxation? Do remember that it is illegal not to declare any income. So, the next time you do it, try to follow the rules and regulations in place and save yourself from committing a chargeable offense.
4. Using Pseudo Names for Online Presence
Please remember that forging a false identity is a crime. Its usage is another crime. And both these crimes are severely punishable. Using someone else’s identity is another illegal thing to do. The next time, you wish to do so, please remember that you can end up in prison for it.
5. Online Movie and TV Shows Streaming
There are many websites out there that provide you with online streaming of movies and your favorite TV Shows. Many of us use these websites to watch them. It is illegal and you can get penalized for doing so. Apart from the all the malware that your machine can get from websites, there are specifically defined laws that prohibit each of us from doing so.
6. Don’t Eat Before You Pay For Something
It is obvious that something becomes our property only when we pay up for it. Still, most of us have developed an unkind habit of testing out our favorite fruit in a grocery store before even paying for it. Just remember that this is illegal the next time you crave to give those shinny apples a bite.
7. Always Use Content With Properly Attributed Copyrights
Many people like us who manage blogs and write over the internet use available images. We should know that usage of such images is against the law. Only use those materials, upon which free usage is encouraged and allowed.
8. Texting and Mobile Phone Usage While Driving
Most of us don’t have patience to reply to a text message from our friend even when we are driving. It is illegal to use mobile phone while driving. Apart from being illegal, we should immediately stop it because it is the prime cause of accident. A late reply to a text message and an unanswered call is much better than bringing harm to your and other people’s lives.
9. Sharing Password of Personal Accounts
It is illegal to share your password with even the subscription services. Learn to say no the next time they ask you for it.
10. Underage Usage of Social Networking Websites
There are age limitation and guidelines to use social media, which most of us tend to entirely ignore. You’re prohibited from using social networking websites unless you’re at least 13 years of age.
So guys, this was a list of illegal things that we should immediately stop doing, and we are not even authorized to do them in the first place. Do try to follow them, and do share your feedback with us.
Happy Legal Overhaul!
